In 2009 the Ngati Kahungunu Iwi Incorporated Board conducted a review. Hui were held in each of the six districts within the Kahungunu rohe to allow for participation and input from all Kahungunu whanau members. A detailed survey was conducted and the data that was collected was put into a booklet and presented to the iwi at the 2009 Annual General Meeting held at Splash Planet in Hastings.

The Board is working on implementing the decisions and concerns collected via the survey forms, online survey and information recieved at the actual hui.
