Tena koutou katoa
Nga mihi hoki ki to whanau i runga.i nga tini ahuatanga o te wa.
Last year I was appointed as the Ngati Kahungunu Poutiri-a-Reo ( Ngati Kahungunu Language Strategy Project Manager.) The main task associated with this job is to develop a Strategic Plan for Te Reo o Kahungunu me ona tikanga.
We have held hui throughout Kahungunu with our iwi members and other te reo stakeholders to discuss our vision for revitalizing te reo me ona tikanga. Information from these hui will be used to help us develop the plan.
Our goal in this project is to help government agencies target and provide financial resources to support whanau with their goals to improve the quality and quantity of te reo as they strengthen their identity as Kahungunu.
I am working with Te Puni Kokiri and Te Reo Providers to further this goal. However Te Taura Whiri, the Maori Language Commission Ma Te Reo fund will be open for proposals on Monday 3 April 2006 and we encourage you and your whanau to take up the challenge so that you have your own funding proposals ready for them by the 1st of April 2006. In my next round of hui in your area I can be available to help with these applications.
Below is a table and short questionnaire we are asking you to complete and E mail back to help with the Strategic Plan for Te Reo o Kahungunu me ona tikanga.
If you decide to be part of all this we would appreciate you providing us with this information to include in the Iwi Plan. Any information you provide would remain confidential and would not be shared with other organizations without your approval. The main benefits of your input will be:
- A chance for you to be part of the Iwi StrategyThe information will be used to help other whanau
- It will help us set priorities and projects for whanau, hapu and iwi investment
No reira noho ora mai i roto i to kainga me te tumanako kia kaha ra ki te korero Maori.
Nga mihi
Ihaia Hutana
