Ngati Kahungunu Whanui Tonu On Saturday 26th February 2005, Lake Karapiro Domain was full of Kahungunu whanau soaking up the sun as they came together for a whanau sports day. Chairman of the Kahungunu ki Kirikiriroa Committee Aaron Whaanga said that the event attracted over 200 people. The most popular event was waka ama, and whanau were happy just being together.
