Ngati Kahungunu Iwi Incorporated EVENTS Sponsorship POLICY Criteria:
Rationale:
Cultural and sporting pursuits are an important aspect of personal, whanau, hapu and iwi development. Ngati Kahungunu Iwi Incorporated allocate a finite amount of funding to sponsorship each year.
The purpose:
Is to encourage, and to recognize the pursuit of cultural and sporting excellence by Ngati Kahungunu.
The application:
1. Applies to events promoting culture and sports within the Ngati Kahungunu rohe or promoting Ngati Kahungunu in a national or international forum primarily for the benefit of Ngati Kahungunu registered members.
2. Policy Statement
- Sponsorship may be allocated to events promoting culture and sports within the Ngati Kahungunu rohe or promoting Ngati Kahungunu in a national or international forum. The applicants must agree and adhere to the criteria for sponsorship and accept decisions made with no right of appeal
- Applicants can only apply once per financial year (1Jul-30June of any year)
3. Criteria
- Sponsorship of up to $1000 for events must:
- apply in writing to the sponsorship coordinator at least four (4) weeks prior to the event with outline details of the event to allow for inclusion of the event in the annual events calendar
- be held in and inclusive of the Ngati Kahungunu rohe or if outside the iwi rohe, be under the umbrella of one of the affiliated Ngati Kahungunu Taurahere organizations for the benefit of registered iwi members.
- acknowledge Ngati Kahungunu Iwi Inc. as sponsor.
- send a letter of acknowledgement and written report of the event to Ngati Kahungunu Iwi Inc. within two (2) weeks of the event and agree to a profile in the Iwi newsletter.
- applicant must not have applied for spponsorship more than once in the current financial year
- Sponsorship of $1000 and over for events must

- be held in and inclusive of the Ngati Kahungunu rohe.
- carry the Kahungunu name in the event title.
- acknowledge Ngati Kahungunu Iwi Inc. as sponsor.
- meet the standards agreed with Ngati Kahungunu Iwi Inc. for the event and will be considered on the merits of the application.
- provide a full report of the event including a financial report is to be submitted to Ngati Kahungunu Iwi Incorporated within 12 weeks of the event being run.
- applicant must not have applied for spponsorship more than once in the current financial year
