Waitangi Day Celebrations

6th February 2005 Waitangi Day Celerations

Over the years Waitangi Day has been celebrated at Farndon park in Clive. This year was no different. Thousands of people came along and joined in with family members as they marched from Waipatu Marae to Farndon Park in Clive. The Entertainment rocked all who were in the Park as groups like Black Kats and Ardijah played island tunes.

Later on in the evening at Napier the Ahuriri Fish Hook Festival took place on the Wharf in West Quay. It was an evening enjoyed by all.

Wairoa Taiwhenua also celebrated Waitangi Day in coordination with the opening of the Ka Moe Ka Puta Exhibition. Although a much smaller gathering of people, it truly was a lovely day.
