The Tihei Mauri Ora Response Centre was set up during COVID to help assist the whānau in the Kahungunu rohe and in the communities in which our whānau live.
It has set up once again to deal with the Community during the Cyclone Gabrielle disaster.
Henry Heke, Wi Ormsby, Gail Titi, and Brenda Ferguson are the TMO team.
The TMO iwi controller is Henry Heke. His role as a representative for Ngāti Kahungunu Iwi Incorporated is to work with the Hawkes Bay Civil Defence team to ensure our whānau are reached, rescued, and assisted with the life-sustaining essentials, ie. food, water, housing, safety, warmth, etc.
A Regional Distribution Centre was set up to provide a place for the delivery and dissemination of goods to the isolated areas as well as to CDEM centres.
