Ngāti Kahungunu Iwi Incorporated makes a big deal out of Waitangi Day because it's one of the largest national day events in the country.
Waitangi Day commemorates a significant day in the history of New Zealand. It is a public holiday held each year on the 6 February to celebrate the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi.
This event attracts thousands to a showcase of home grown entertainment, food stalls, arts and crafts, social sports, whānau relay races and kapa haka at the spectacular 30 hectare Mitre 10 Sports Park in Hawke's Bay.
This year sporting codes will include Touch, Netball, 3 on 3 Basketball and Ki O Rahi,
